Cookie Policy

Effective date: 1 July 2025 Version: 1.0 Directive 2009/136/EC · GDPR (EU) 2016/679

§ 01

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, to improve efficiency, and to provide information to the operators of the site.

In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs), local storage objects, and session storage. For the purposes of this Policy, all such technologies are referred to collectively as “cookies”.

Cookies may be either session cookies — which expire when you close your browser — or persistent cookies — which remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them manually.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which provide further information on how we process personal data collected through cookies.

§ 02

Who Sets Cookies on This Website

Cookies on the Website at https://law27.eu are set by two types of parties:

  • First-party cookies — set directly by Omnexis Group LLC, the operator of law27.eu, for the purposes described in this Policy.
  • Third-party cookies — set by external service providers whose tools and technologies we have integrated into the Website (such as analytics providers and payment processors). These third parties set and access cookies on your device in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies, to which we provide links in §4 below.

We do not control the cookies set by third parties beyond our selection and configuration of the services we use. We encourage you to review the relevant third-party policies directly.

§ 03

Categories of Cookies We Use

We classify cookies into four categories based on their function, consistent with the guidance of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) and the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Transparency & Consent Framework:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — essential for the Website to operate and for you to navigate it and use its features. Without these cookies, services you have requested, such as accessing secure areas or submitting forms, cannot be provided. These cookies do not require your consent under Article 5(3) of Directive 2009/136/EC.
  • Analytical / performance cookies — allow us to recognise and count visitors and to understand how visitors move around the Website. This helps us improve the way the Website works. These cookies collect information in an aggregated, anonymised, or pseudonymised form and require your prior consent.
  • Functional cookies — enable the Website to remember choices you make (such as language or region preferences) to provide enhanced, more personalised features. These cookies may also be used to provide services you have requested. They require your prior consent where they process personal data.
  • Marketing / targeting cookies — used to track visitors across websites in order to display advertisements that are relevant to the individual user. They also limit the number of times an advertisement is shown and help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. These cookies require your explicit prior consent.

§ 04

Cookies We Use on This Website

The table below sets out the specific cookies currently in use on the Website, their purpose, provider, and retention period. This list is updated when cookies are added or removed.

We do not currently use marketing or targeting cookies. Should we introduce them in the future, this table will be updated and your consent will be sought prior to their activation.

Third-party providers referenced above maintain their own cookie disclosures: Google Privacy Policy · Cloudflare Privacy Policy · Stripe Privacy Policy.

§ 05

Legal Basis for Cookie Use

Our use of cookies is governed by Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by Directive 2009/136/EC (the “ePrivacy Directive”), read in conjunction with the GDPR.

  • Strictly necessary cookies — deployed on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a functional, secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). No consent is required under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, as these cookies are strictly necessary to deliver a service explicitly requested by the user.
  • Analytical, functional, and marketing cookies — deployed only on the basis of your freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; Article 5(3) ePrivacy Directive). You may withdraw your consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Where cookies process personal data (such as IP addresses or device identifiers), that processing is subject in full to the rights and obligations set out in our Privacy Policy.

§ 06

Your Consent

When you first visit the Website, a cookie consent banner is displayed. Through that banner, you may:

  • accept all cookies (including analytical and functional cookies);
  • reject all non-essential cookies; or
  • manage your preferences by category.

Consent is recorded and stored in the cookie_consent cookie listed in §4. Your preferences remain valid for 12 months, after which you will be asked to confirm them again.

You may change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies or by using the cookie preference centre accessible via the “Cookie Settings” link in the website footer. Withdrawal of consent applies prospectively and does not affect any processing that took place prior to withdrawal.

Continuing to browse the Website without interacting with the consent banner does not constitute consent to non-essential cookies. Only an affirmative action through the consent mechanism is treated as consent.

§ 07

Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

In addition to our consent tool, you can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • view the cookies currently stored on your device;
  • block all cookies or block cookies from specific websites;
  • delete cookies when you close your browser or at any time on demand.

Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Website from functioning correctly. Instructions for managing cookies in the most commonly used browsers are available at the following links:

For opt-out from Google Analytics tracking specifically, you may install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

§ 08

International Transfers via Third-Party Cookies

Some of the third-party providers whose cookies we use (including Google LLC, Cloudflare, Inc., and Stripe, Inc.) are incorporated in the United States of America and process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

Where personal data collected through cookies is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on the applicable transfer mechanisms under Chapter V GDPR, including Standard Contractual Clauses (Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/914) and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795) for providers that are certified thereunder.

You may obtain further information on the transfer safeguards applied by each provider through their respective privacy policies, linked in §4 above.

§ 09

Amendments to This Policy

We review and update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in applicable law, or changes in the guidance issued by competent supervisory authorities (in particular the EDPB and national data protection authorities).

The updated version will be published on the Website with a new effective date. Where changes are material — in particular where new consent-based cookies are introduced — we will reset the cookie consent banner so that you are informed and can provide fresh consent.

§ 10
